03 APR '25 RESULT FROM - ALHAMA SIGNATURE
Hola AMIGOS
Today’s visit to Alhama Signature was memorable wasn’t it? But not for the right golf reasons! The course was very poorly presented which affected both your playing ability and spirit judging by your post game comments and scorecard returns. Unfortunately the golf course was booked last July 2024 when planned developments were in overdrive but we could not foresee those events unravel so quickly so as to leave the golf course in such a condition. So, what were those scores:-
Individual Category 1
Nobody broke par in this division and results were pretty average but generally bunched together in a narrow band. We can honourably mention, though, Heimir Bergmann, Iain Stewart, Reg Hole and Lucy Hole all on 33 points. No matter what the scores are winning is winning even when scoring is low and countbacks are needed. Congratulations to all who played
Winner : Kirk Green : 35 points (h/c 8.4)
Runner-Up : James Pearson : 35 points (h/c 18.8)
Individual Category 2
Same story in this division but with slightly lower returns. We can mention Tom Duncan, A Van Den Borre and Graham Field with 31 points and Paul Best with 32 points and surprisingly the one/two were in the prize money with only a point more. Well done the winners and everyone else for your effort:-
Winner : Chris Dunne : 33 points (h/c 27.0)
Runner-Up : Ken Sewell : 33 points (h/c 29.6)
Team Competition
Dusty Bin is a tricky format at the best of times but it was even more so today. However, one Team achieved the Standard Par of 108 points so very well played and congratulations every other Team many of whom were not that far behind.
Winners : Team 3 : 108 points
Heimir Bergmann, James Pearson, Liz Murty and Rinus de Zwart
Runners-Up : Team 7 : 106 points
Lucy Hole, Ron Weller, Tony Osborne and Kevin Lambe.
Other team scores were: Team 4 = 104pts, Team 2 = 100pts, Team 9 = 99pts, Team 5 = 98pts, Team 1 = 94pts, Team 8 = 91pts, Teams 6 & 10 = 84pts.
Two sharpshooters today with excellent tee shots, well executed Phil Doughty, Hole 11 and Ken Sewell on Hole 17. The greens were not receptive to accurate ball striking, however, the Charity Box is well pleased that no ‘Two’s’ were recorded today!
Please do look out for April’s competitions, Hacienda Riquelme, Thursday 03rd; Mar Menor, 24th and going into May, Golf Altorreal, 01 May. And, don’t forget the big one, Amigo’s Anniversary Cup Away Day to La Envia, Vicar, Almeria! On 22/23 May. But more information is to come.
Doing their best to make the day run as smoothly as possible, our Organisers and Helpers, Iain Stewart, Bob Lancaster, Brian Platt, Dave Hughes, Harry Rice, Ron Weller, Andrew Smithurst and guest presenter Diane Nicholls, muchas gracias!
The better news is that Alhama Signature will be undergoing major maintenance and improvement works from June with the expectation that Autumn’s High Season will see dramatically improved conditions! We will wait and see on that one and keep you posted!
Amigos has a great portfolio of golf courses and we really treat you with some of our locations but one or two unfortunately miss the mark but at least we show you what Murcia and Alicante has to offer. All the same we do appreciate your patience and support for our Society wherever you might play.
Hasta luego
Graham🤓👍

Congratulations to Everyone Who Took Part and Helped Make it a Great Day for All
