10 APR 25 RESULT FROM  -  HACIENDA RIQUELME

Hola AMIGOS
I hope that you all enjoyed your day at  Hacienda Riquelme today, be it as a regular Member or as a visitor? You certainly created an atmosphere and we enjoyed your company whatever the outcome.  But how was the golf played in the fairly tricky windy conditions and challenging greens?  Let’s see:-
Individual Category 1
Our Elite Golfers found it somewhat tough going with below par returns and a few tragedies along the way.  40+ scores were not going to be achieved on this course but let’s honourably mention some of the better scores. Well played Lucy and Reg Hole with 33 Stableford points and also your one/two with just one/two more shots.

Winner : Jonathan Thompson : 35 points
Runner-Up : David Doig : 34 points
Individual Category 2
Playing much closer to par were the Amigos in this Category but still with a few finding it difficult.  Well played everyone including these Guys, and honourable so, Steve Fitzpatrick, Simon Hastings and Sharon seed, 34 points and Kevin Sutton, 35 points (h/c 23.1) unfortunately just missing out on a prize with a slightly higher handicap. Sometimes just making par wins a prize and that is what occurred here:-

Winner : Colin Hynd : 36 points
 Runner-Up : Jane Hutchinson : 34 points (h/c 21.7)
Individual Category 3
The best 3 scores were to be found in this category, and these stood out from the rest. To mention a couple of names A Van Den Borre and Graham Field had 31 points and honourably mentioned is Mark Seed, 37 points which generally is deserving of a prize but unfortunately only two awards this week and the two podium places could only be separated by 0.2 handicap difference!  Well done everyone:-

Winner : Bea Van Rijn : 38 points  (h/c 28.1)
Runner-Up : Paul Best : 38 points (h/c 28.3)
Team Competition
Whilst Individual scores were not as anticipated individually, as pairings, your better-ball pair scores contributed to some very good Team totals with most exceeding Standard Par of 72.  So, well played Amigos for this achievement.

Winners : Team 4 : 87 points
Lucy Hole, Sus Tonnisen, Simon Hastings and  Paul Best

Runners-Up : Team 12 : 84 points
David Doig, Lynne Lalley, Harry Rice and Bea Van Rijn
3rd Place : Team 2 : 82 points (On lower combined total)
Steve Jones, Reg Hole, An Van Den Borre and Mark Seed (Ghost)

Other team scores were: Team 3 = 82pts, Team 1 = 80pts, Team 8 = 78pts, Team 14 = 76pyts, Team 5 = 75pts, Team 11 = 74pts, Team 7 = 73pts, Team 13 = 71pts, Teams 9 & 10 = 67pts, Team 6 = 62pts.
Showing a touch of class your sharpshooters today were, Jill Sheridan, Hole 15; Anthony Grey, Hole 17 and JT, Jonathan Thompson, Hole 16 (in 2) and Hole 18 (in 3) and those special shots yielding twos were played by David Doig, Sharon Seed and Jill Sheridan all on Hole 15.  Congratulations all.
Our remaining April competition fixture sees us play Mar Menor on Thursday 24th and into May we play Golf Altorreal on the 1st May and La Torre on the 8th.  And that’s before the ‘big trip’ to La Envia, Almeria on 22/23 May’25. It’s not too late to join the party if you want to experience Amigo’s Away Day hospitality, but be quick to let us know!
Thank you to all of our Organisers and Helpers looking after a very full house today, Harry Rice, Iain Stewart, Brian Platt, Dave Hughes, Bob Lancaster, Andrew Smithurst, Ron Weller, Paul Best and Simon Hastings.
Thank you all for your patience and see you all at Mar Menor next week!
Hasta Luego
