It is always good to have a full house on our Thursday's and what glorious winter weather we had for our golf. And even the guys in shorts had their moments!
How did we all do? Well, apart from a few exceptions and on a very playable course, just OK.
Category 1 : Single 
Terry Wallington and Mel Watson you are mentioned for scoring 33 points apiece but your winner stood out from the rest:-
Winner : Peter Cafferkey : 35 points
Category 2 : Individual 
Mentioned honorably for her 35 points is Hazel Price followed by Carol Henshall-Brown and Vince Mifsud with 34 points. But with a clear 1-shot advantage was:-
Winner: Steve Fitzpatrick : 36 points
Category 3 : Individual 
And here is where the scores take off! Our three ladies, An Van Den Borre, 35 points, Pauline Cafferkey, 38 points and Bea Van Rijn, continuing her excellent run of form, with 39 points could not even get into the prize places this week! But with an outstanding performance and clearly the best of the day as well as qualifying for the Amigos Forties Club.  Many congratulations :-

Team Competition : 4-ball
An extremely tough competition with four scores counting equating to standard par of 144 points saw 3 Teams achieving +130 point returns but with one prize and a commendable performance saw clear winners:-
Winners :  Team 3 : 139 points
Hans Nout , Hazel Price , Simon Hastings and Graham Field
Other 4-ball team scores were: Team 9 = 132pts, Team 12 = 131pts, Team 5 = 129pts, Team 11 =126pts, Team 2 = 123pts, Team 13 = 120pts, Team 6 = 118pts, Team 4 = 117pts, Team 1 = 113pts, Team 8 = 111pts, Teams 7 & 10 = 108pts.

Blind Team Competition : 
All Players 1; Players 2; Players 3 and Players 4 made up Teams of equal overall handicaps and the total of their individual stableford scores were added together to give final totals, viz.:-
Players 1 Combined Total 377 points (average 29); Players 3 Combined Total 387 (average 30); Players 4 Combined Total 392 (average 30) but clear winners containing fine individual performers were:-
Team Players 2 with Combined Total of 417 points (average 32 points)

Our next, and eagerly awaited competition is at La Finca next week where we will put together a final start sheet in as fair a manner as possible from a well oversubscribed list! Watch this space!
All details including itineraries and costings for Amigos traditional ' Anniversary Away Day' to Marina Playa in Mojacar were announced and will be confirmed by a separate email shortly but our website has now been updated with same. A few places remain so if you have not registered you would be most welcome to join us on Thursday/Friday 25/26 May'23. But do let us know soonest.
