03/02/22 HACIENDA RIQUELME

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola Amigos,
It was really great to see so many of you supporting Amigos and Hacienda Riquelme Golf Course where we haven’t played since pre-pandemic times today. I hope that you all enjoyed your golf and re-unions and wasn’t the weather good?
With an unfamiliar course, for some, and tricky greens, scoring was fair to modest but still a number of honourable mentions were justified.
Category 1 : Individual
Stan Lalley and Alastair Sporne, 32 points and Gordon Hutchinson, 33 points all played well. However, the plaudits went to:-
Winner : Dave Hooper : 38 points and best return of the day!
Runner-Up : Elaine Hoffman : 35 points on lower handicap
3rd Place : Lesley Mifsud : 35 points on lower handicap
Category 2 : Individual
Impressive returns were posted by Patrick Dumon, Jane McDonald and An Van Den Borre, 32 points and H, Harold Clarke didn’t quite make the rostrum on 35 points as the Runner-Up and 3rd place players also had 35 points but with lower handicaps. Well done anyway.
Winner : Lynne Hynd : 36 points
Runner-Up : Lynn Lalley : 35 points
Third Place : Sus Tonnisen : 35 points
Team Competition
With a tough competition, as per Amigo’s norm, only two teams surpassed standard par of 108 points and impressively too. Many congratulations:-
Winners : Team 5 : 115 points
Stuart Ellis, Gordon Hutchinson, Lesley Mifsud and Lynne Hynd
Runners-Up : Team 4 : 112 points
Brian Platt, An Van Den Borre, Sus Tonnisen and Harold Clarke
3rd Place : Team 6 : 103 points
Annette Deeley, Stan Lalley, Graham Field and Jane McDonald

The other team scores for the day were: Team 11 = 102pts, Team 8 = 100pts, Team 1 = 97pts, Team 10 = 95pts, Team 3 = 93pts, Team 7 = 92 pts, Team 9 = 91pts, Team 2 = 69pts.

Our magic target shooters today were, in the ‘Two’s’ competition:-
Hole 5, Annette Deeley and Dave Hooper; Hole 7, Elaine Hoffman and Hole 17, Annette Deeley. None of these players were nearest to the flags however, which shows how good their putts were!  Many congratulations though on Hole 4, Dot Jones (in 3); Hole 5, Bob Lancaster; and Hole 6, Brian Stubbs (in 2)
Well played everyone else who played a part and how good were our ladies today winning most of the prizes on offer?!

Please do let me know by email if you cannot register on-line and want an opportunity of playing as the competitions coming up are pretty well fully booked. It is significant how busy our courses and Societies are becoming at these times!
And finally, we would love you to join us at La Sella, Denia, on 26/27 May’22 to celebrate Amigos 5th Anniversary whether you play golf or not.  Provisions have been made for all interests.  We have many listed already but please do commit quickly if you can. Please refer to the website for all of the details.
Thank you all of our helpers and we look forward to our re-arranged competition at Roda next week.
Graham
