I was so nice that you braved the summer heat to take part in our inaugural GOLF and PAELLA Adventure at Campo de Golf Municipal Torre Pacheco today. And, also good to have welcomed non-golfing partners, family, friends and neighbours for lunch. It is a little gem of a course that that was really good fun to play and no doubt got your attention testing out those short game golf skills?

But how did you fair and did you have the right three clubs?
With two lowest medal scores counting first time around on the 9 holes and three the second time these guys certainly did! Many congratulations:-
Winners : Team 3 : 113 points
Caz Clarke, Bob Lancaster, Marc Vandercruyssen and H Clarke
Runners-Up : Team 5 : 122 points (with a little help from a ghost or two!)
Ruud Woudstra, Graham Field, Liz Murty and Andrew Smithurst

The day wasn’t about individual performance, it was about Team fun, but these Amigos were worthy of honourable mentions with nett (54 or lower). Iain Stewart, 54 points; Marc Vandercruyssen, 53; Bob Lancaster, 51, H Clarke, 50 and a ridiculous 48 from Andrew Smithurst, well done!

And, well played everyone else who took part and supported us. Especially Liz Murty who managed 9 holes walking playing for the first time since her replacement hip surgery – you are a star and everyone applauded you!

I hope that you will join us again next Thursday 10 Aug’23 for our Summer Swing visit to La Torre. A morning start and buggies are available for those who need them. Remember we have competitions all through August.

Thank you Bob and Iain for your help putting this special occasion together. Shall we come back again next year? Yes, most certainly! but perhaps with a little earlier start? I am sure that some of you new guys to the course will play again at some future time?
