04/03/21 EL VALLE

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola Amigos,
Thank you everyone you all made it to El Valle today and also for your patience in adapting to the late change of venues.
It promised to be a good day for scoring today and at least our category 1 golfers showed us all how to play golf!

In Category 1 honourable mentions extend to Colin Hynd, 35 points and Alastair Sporne, 37 points who shared second place but just missed out on lower handicap and the prizes. But what a truly amazing display of golf, with a mere 10 shot allowance and easily the best of the day by our winner:-
Winner : Dave Maskens : 43 points!
Runner-up : David Henshall-Brown : 37 points.

In Category 2 more modest golf was played by all, but well done and honourably mentioned: Bob Lancaster, 30 points, Rudy Ceusters, 29 points, and Harry Rice, 28 points and many congratulations go to our winner and runner-up who both won on lowest handicap:-
Winner : An Van Den Borre : 32 points
Runner-Up : Sharon Seed : 30 points.

In Category 3, Richard Verhoeven, 30 points, is honourably mentioned and congratulations and prizes go to your winner and runner-up :-
Winner : Hanne Johnslov : 34 points
Runner-up : Graham Platts : 33 points.

In the Team Competition, a really tough format, and whilst anticipating some near par scores of around of 108, only one team not only exceeded it but smashed it. Many congratulations go to those winners and well done the team event runners-up:-
Winners : Team 3 : 115 points
Gordon Hutchinson, Sharon Seed, Hanne Johnslov and Richard Verhoeven.
Runners-up : Team 6 : 106 points
Alastair Sporne, Brian Stobbs, Lynne Hynd and Vincent Brison.

Other team scores were: Team 9 = 105pts, Team 8 = 100pts, Team 1 = 99, Teams 2 & 5 = 98pts, Team 4 = 96, Team 7 = 91.

Next week’s game on Thursday 11 Mar’21 is more than likely to be at El Valle as shown on the fixture list but may switch to La Torre should the Torre Pacheco Municipality border re-open. Both venues are pencilled in. Amigos 25 Mar’21 Competition is not confirmed as the Regional border comes into play and there remains a strong possibility that we may not be allowed to travel to Font Del Llop.  If that is the case I will confirm La Serena, once advised by them, which will be an opportunity to put business their way after two previous cancellations.
The next start sheet will be issued as soon as possible but please do let me know urgently should you not be booked in and would like to play.
Hasta Luego
Graham
