ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola AMIGOS
Wow, that was some kind of day wasn’t it?  You guys tore Vistabella apart!  Many many congratulations.  Eleven Golfers returning scores of 40 points or more, that’s 25% of the field.  That has got to be some kind of record!  And if you had 40 or even 41 points you weren’t even in the prizes!

Individual Category 1
Congratulations all Amigos in this Category.  And only honourable mentions today for Grahame Bradbury, Gordon Hutchinson and Mike Kitchen, 41 stableford points and Harry Rice, 40 points. And so well played your 1 & 2:-
Winner : Ron Weller : 44 points
Runner-Up : Brian Fitzimmons : 42 points

Individual Category 2
Again well played all Amigos in this category citing Tony Foster and Paul Best, 41 points, Aiden MacCrory, 40 points, Graham Platts, 39 points and Diane Nicholls 38 points for honourable mentions.  But even beating those scores with aplomb the plaudits go to :-
Winner :  Liz Murty : 45 points (Yes 45 points!  Best of the day).
Runner-Up : Graham Field : 43 points
Half of the field could have won competitions on another day with their totals!

Team Competition
With individual scores highlighted above you would expect great team scores and they surely were. Two Teams weren’t far away from standard par of 108 for this ‘High Tariff Dusty Bin’ format but as expected everyone else murdered it so well played all Team players and the highlights were as follows:-
Winners : Team 4 : 128 points
Grahame  Bradbury, Graham Whant, Graham Field and Graham Platts
Runners-Up : Team 7 : 125 points
Liz Murty, Liz McReynolds, Sylvia de Zwart and Diane Nicholls
Other team scores were: Teams 5 & 3 = 123pts, Team 9 = 118pts, Team 8 = 117pts, Team 2 = 116pts, Team 10 = 110pts, Teams 1 & 4 = 100pts.
I do recall saying in my Start Sheet Issue to watch out for ‘G Force’ and ‘Girl Power’.

Targeting those 3 Pins very well were Paul Best, Hole 10 (in 3); Greg Colclough, Hole 11 and Rod Howarth, Hole 12 (In 2) and surprisingly with such high scoring only 2 x ‘Two’s’ were recorded. No fear though for Tony Foster and Harry Rice on Hole 2.

We are well into summer now and tee-time availability and Society rates are very good so please do join us by registering on-line or letting me know for Thursday 11 Jul’24, Hacienda Riquelme, Thursday 25 Jul’24,  La Torre  and Thursday 01 Aug’24, Altaona Village. I do hope that many GNK Members will join us! Golden Bear sandwiched in between play Saurines on 19 Jul’24.
Finally thank you to all of our Organisers and Helpers, Harry Rice, Iain Stewart, Dave Hughes, Bob Lancaster, Ron Weller, Liz McReynolds and anyone who I might have missed but especially to you Amigos who did the hard work on the golf course recording those amazing numbers
Hasta luego
Graham
