04/08/22 LA TORRE

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola Amigos,
The hot weather and tricky format today seemed to inhibit good scoring, in fact, only a handful of players scored over 30 stableford points! And those that did were very very good especially with 95% slope applying. Only Category and Team winners receive the prizes today.
Category 1
Ron Weller you are mentioned with 32 points, Malcolm Weaver honourably so with 36 points but there are no doubts about our clear winner and best of the day:-
Winner : 38 points: Carol Henshall-Brown
Category 2
Anthony Gray you are mentioned with 31 points and Keiran Roche and Graham Platts took the honourable runners-up places with 34 points apiece. But despite a stewards enquiry there were no doubts about the winner:-
Winner : 35 points: Ken Roche

Team Competition
Standard par for this competition was 72 points and with both the two highest and the two lowest scores counting on par 3’s this Team got the measure of the game and the opposition:-
Winners : Team 2 : 76 points
- Malcolm Weaver, Ron Weller, Carol Henshall-Brown and Jill Leahy
Other team scores were: Team 3: 70pts, Team 4 = 63pts, Team5 = 61 pts & Team 1 = 51pts

Three of the ‘Two’s’ marksmen, Joe Leahy, rookie Kevin Thompson and Malcolm Weaver found their lengths on Hole 5! And Terry McCartney achieved the fete on Hole 17. Congratulations.
Well done to everyone else who participated and made the morning so successful.

Summer competitions are always light on numbers due to the weather and visitor patterns so please do support us at Campoamor on Thursday 11 Aug’22, with a great deal at this quality venue, Thursday 25 Aug’22 at Saurines and reach out to your golfing buddies.
Thank you to all of the helpers and do hope that your back injury retirement, Martin Scott, will not prove too serious.
Good luck to all you Amigos returning back to your holiday homes wherever they may be and see you again soon.
And for those remaining in Spain let’s do it all again next week!
Hasta luego
Graham
