Hola Amigos, 
Thank you all for supporting Amigos competition at El Valle yesterday especially Gordon and Rod Howarth’s golfing party. I am sure that everyone enjoyed themselves but the golf proved extremely difficult for all, especially in the windy conditions, but with with one or two notable exceptions.

Individual Category 1
The usual high standards of golf were not met by these category one players with only 3 players achieving 30 stableford points and above. Carol Henshall-Brown just missed out on higher handicap but well done our prize recipients all the same: 
Winner : Klaus Hummel : 31 points
Runner-Up : Grahame Bradbury : 30 points
Individual Category 2
Sensational scoring by two players elevated this category to the best group of the day and by a long way.  In the 30 and above stableford listings were Russell Bedford, 31 points and Carol Brand, 32 points, good job. However, what can I say:-
Winner : Bob Lancaster : 41 points : Wow! You well deserve your two+ point handicap cut!
Runner-Up : Dave Hooper : 37 points
Individual Category 3
One clear winner but I am sure there will be more to come from these players in  future competitions!
Winner : María Verelst : 35 points
Runner-Up : Pauline Stow : 29 points.

Team Competition
Standard par of 72 was achieved by almost all of the teams but the podium placings with congratulations are:
Winners : Team 1 : 83 points
Brian Platt, John Burgess, Dave Hooper and Maria Verelst
Runners-Up : Team 10 : 79 points
Carol Henshall-Brown, An Van den Borre, Bob Lancaster and Graham Field.

Not achieving a ‘NTP’ but shot of the day recording the only 2 on Hole 6 and earning 5 stableford points in the process, well done Brian Stobbs.
And those exceptional shots saw Lesley Mifsud (Hole 6), Mick Lynch (Hole 9), Dave Hooper (Hole 12) and Stan Lalley (Hole 15) win the ‘Nearest the Pin’ prizes - well done.

With the exception of Villamartin on Thursday 25 Nov’21, reserve list only, limited space remains should wish to join us for all competitions for the remainder of 2021. And, Lo Romero on Thursday 30 Dec’21 has now been extended to a ‘shot gun start’ so we can accommodate more Amigos. Please do register.
Finally, life’s adventures sees one of our favourite characters, Richard MacDonald, playing his last Amigo’s game before moving on to UK and USA for the next chapters of his career. Always supportive of golf and keen to play in all of our local societies he will be missed. But we wish him well and hope that he may come back and visit his Spanish friends in the future. Good luck Richard.
