Hola AMIGOS
We wish you all Godt Nytar in recognition our new Danish Amigos, Poul Fris Hansen and Bente Hornshoej Hansen and we also welcomed Jonathan Webster playing his first game today. The follow up should be to wish you all a Happy Golfing New Year and it certainly was for these Amigos:-
John Burgess, Mick Hughes and James Bunce the day belonged to you.
JB your Eagle 2 was impressive on Hole 11, Mick your Eagle 2 on Hole 13, stroke index 1, was absolutely awesome but even these feats did not surpass James’ ACE on Hole 6! Thank you for saving your first hole in One a real ‘bucket list’ achievement for an Amigos competition! Many many congratulations.
Category 1 : Individual
Scoring was mixed but Iain Stewart, Ellis Butler and Paul Taylor you are now mentioned with 34 points but our runner up did very well and our winner left everyone in his wake with a great authoritative round of golf.

Category 1 : Team
Anticipating Category 1 Teams to exceed standard par of 108 points, 6 Teams could not manage this goal but well done your winning Team anyway.

Sandy McDonald, Vince Mifsud, Dave Hughes and Christine Gibbons
Other Cat 2 team scores were: Team 8 = 118pts, Team 10 = 115pts, Team 2 =110pts, Team 7 = 98pts, Team 9 = 96pts.
Target shooting was a speciality for these Nearest the Pin golfers, congratulations Holes 5 (In 2) and 6, Poul Hansen, sunk in 2! on Hole 13 (In 3), Mick Hughes and Hole 18 (In 3), Ellis Butler. And conventional Two’s were recorded for Poul Hansen on Hole 6, rare Eagle Two’s, John Burgess on Hole 11, and Mick Hughes on Hole 13 and not so much of a Two but more of a ONE! on Hole 9, James Bunce.
Congratulations everyone else who played a part on this memorable day of golf!
Our attention now turns to Hacienda del Alamo on Thursday 12 Jan’23 and Lo Romero on Thursday 26 Jan’23 so watch out for the start sheets. They are both oversubscribed but additional tee-times negotiated will extend opportunities for a few more.
Thank you to our Organisers Bob Lancaster on keyboards, Dave Hughes on Tax and Iain on Tee-boy duty.
I am now left entirely breathless after today!
Hasta luego,
Graham
