05/12/24 HACIENDA RIQUELME
ARCHIVED RESULT FROM
Hola AMIGOS
It was a real pleasure to play Hacienda Riquelme today, to give our GNK Members an opportunity to don a red shirt, to meet up with old friends and returnees. Did the weather, the playability of the course and your practice round 😂 on Monday set you up for today’s Competition? Let’s see……
Individual Category 1
A mixed bag really with modest winning totals, but hey 40 points every week is a difficult target to achieve. Honourably mentioned are Sam McReynolds and Graeme McKnight, 34 Stableford points, Heimir Bergmann 35 points and the top four on 36 points could only be awarded prizes based on handicap status. Unfortunately, Steve Fitzpatrick (Handicap 17.6) misses out but is honourably mentioned, but well played all and especially the podium finishers:-
Winner : Lucy Hole : 36 points (Handicap 7.9)
Runner-Up : Jonathan Thompson : 36 points (Handicap 9.7)
3rd Place : Reg Hole : 36 points (Handicap 11.6)
Individual Category 2
Pretty much matching the average and efforts of the Category 1 Players but the one/two managed to break par for the prizes. Mentioned are Kevin Sutton and H Clarke, 32 points and honourably so, Dave Hughes, 34 points. Congratulations to these Category Players and the winners:-
Winner : Sandy McDonald : 37 points (Handicap 22.3)
Runner-Up : Rachel McKnight : 37 points (Handicap 26.5)
3rd Place : Gary Conway : 36 points
Team Competition
Anticipating 63 as standard par, including bonus, Iain Stewart put together some competitive Teams with many exceeding that total and with an unusual and tricky format. Well played these winning Teams, and indeed all Teams:-
Winners : Team 14 : 73 points
Sam McReynolds, Steve Fitzpatrick, Poul Friis Hansen and Dave Hughes
Runners-Up : Team 4 : 69 points
Lucy Hole, Paul Best, Patrick Dumon and Rachel McKnight
3rd Places : Team 12 : 67 points
Jonathan Thompson, Mel Watson, Harry Rice and Caz Clarke
Other team scores were: Team 13 = 66pts, Team 11 = 65pts, Team7 = 62pts, Team 2 = 61pts, Teams 1 & 6 = 58pts, Team 5 = 57pts, Team 10 = 56pts, Team 8 = 49pts, Team 9 = 41pts, Team 3 = 39pts.
On the button for the ‘technical’ prizes were sharpshooters Steve Atkinson, Nearest the Pin on Hole 4 (In 3); Rachel McKnight, Hole 5; Graham Field, Hole 15 and Sam McReynolds, Hole 16 (In 2). 5 Two’s was impressive, well played Rachel McKnight, Ron Weller on Hole 5; Steve Fitzpatrick and Lucy Hole on Hole 7 and Heimir Bergmann on Hole 15.
With two cracking courses to round off the year, Las Colinas on Thursday 12 Dec’24 and La Finca on Friday 27 Dec’24 you would join a reserve list for the former but we do have availability for the latter. Please do check out all the 2025 Competition Fixtures and register, if you can, as many of the most popular times and venues are showing strong interest. Whatever your circumstances if they are ‘fixed’, please register or let us know.
We will be developing details for our Amigos Anniversary Cup Away Day golf excursion to La Envia Wellness Spa and Golf near Vicar, Almeria on Thursday/Friday 22/23 May’25 now so if you are interested, and we hope you are, please let us know soon and you will find all of the details on the website.
Finally, thank you to the Amigos Organisers and Helpers for bringing Hacienda Riquelme to you, Harry Rice, Iain Stewart, Brian Platt, Dave Hughes, Bob Lancaster and Ron Weller, any others not mentioned and especially you Amigos for supporting us.
Hasta Luego
Graham🤓👍
