Hola AMIGOS
We love introducing Amigos to new venues and gratifying when they love them!  Alenda Golf is up there with the best in the area and if today’s playing conditions were good even though essential maintenance work on the greens were not perfect just imagine what they are going to be like when they have fully recovered!
Scoring was very very good today across both categories but did you make the podium?
Let’s see:-
Category 1 : Individual 
A plethora of 30+ scores were received by the adjudicator and honourable mentions start at 35. Well done John Byrne, Stan Lalley and Brian Platt and Gail Duffield’s 36 just didn’t quite make it on to the podium. Well played all in this category though and congratulations 
Winner : Andy Duffield  : 38 points
Runner- Up : Steve Fitzpatrick: 37 points

Category 1 : Team
And with one Category Team prize this time, holding it all together and making their 3 scores counting count were:-
Winners : Team  2 : 121 points
Colin Walters, Andy Duffield, Iain Stewart and Gail Duffield
Other Cat 1 team scores were: Team 1 = 114pts, Team 10 = 110pts, Team5 = 102pts, Team 7 = 101pts.

Category  2 : Individual 
Matching the quality of the scoring of the upper category Harry Rice, 34 points, Gary Conway, 35 points and Sylvia de Zwart, Ken Sewell and Dave Hughes, 36 points can be honourably mentioned, well done.  Your one-two were excellent and the winners score exhilarating posting best of the day by quite a margin and a deserved entrant into the Amigos Forties Club! Many congratulations:-

Runner-Up : Lynn Lalley : 37 points 

Category 2 : Team
Very close team efforts all round and only fine margins separated the winning team, many congratulations to all and especially:-
Winners : Team 9, 117 points
Gordon Hutchinson, Anthony Gray, Dave Hughes and Phil Doughty
Other Cat 2 team scores were: Teams 4 & 8 = 115pts, Teams 3 & 6 = 114pts.

Payouts were modest today and pleasing as this year’s round of charity ‘Two’s’ comes to a close but no doubting those special shots from our sharpshooters, Rinus de Zwart, Hole 3, Iain Stewart, Hole 5 and Steve Fitzpatrick on Hole 16. Very well done.
Many congratulations to our May Race to La Finca Winner and Runner-Up, Ron Weller and Gordon Hutchinson who receive their special logo balls!
We are well into our early summer competitions to real quality golf courses and the next few games, we are sure will live up to expectations, viz., La Finca, Thursday 13 Jun’24, Amigos v Golden Bear inter-Society Matchplay competition at Lo Romero, Thursday 20 Jun’24,  Las Colinas, Thursday 27 Jun’24 and Vistabella, Thursday 04 Jul’24.  These games are heavily subscribed but please register or email  if you have not done so already, if you want to be considered, but you may be added to a reserve list.

We are so pleased to have debutants joining us today but so sorry to lose a few Amigos at the end of their tenure in Spain for now but see you back soon.
