What great golfing weather at Alhama today and wasn’t it great to see the investment being poured into that location by its new owners.  The course is recovering well from its previous neglect & closure and another years growth should see the fairways back to their best.
So how was your golf? Overall, somewhat mixed with some poor & some excellent scoring, including 2 new entries into the Forties club:-

Individuals Competition
Category 1
With one notable exception, scoring is this category was disappointing with honourable (slightly) mentions going to Martin Hennessey & Heimir Bergmann (32 pts).

Runner-Up : Brian Platt : 34 points
Category 2
Clearly the strongest of this week’s categories and containing the best score of the day. Honourable mentions go to Vilma Krinks (38pts), Phil Brookes (36pts), Steve Fitzpatrick (37pts)n Weller (38 pts).
Winner : David Doig : 43 points
Runner-Up : Sus Tonnisen : 39 points
Category 3
Less spectacular than Cathy 2 but some solid performances. Honourable mentions go to Dave Hughes (33pts), Tony Foster & Hazel Price (34 pts).
Winner : John Fox : 38 points
Runner-Up : Bob Lancaster : 37 points

Team Competition
All bar one team managed to better the par score of 108, however, this doesn’t mean everyone was close together, with a difference of 45 points between 1st & last. The challenge for the top 3 was, however, a very close competition with the top 2 sharing their score and only being separated by 0.1 on team handicap.

A good day for the Charity with only 2 two’s, congratulations to Chris Connorton (11th) and Jane Hutchinson (17th). Check out the website tomorrow for all results.

Congratulations also go to our Race to La Finca - February Monthly winners who received their prizes today: 1st = Brian Platt: 40.3 avge pts (4 games), 2nd = Ron Weller: 40.0 avge pts (3 games), 3rd = Steve Atkinson: 39 avge pts (1 game).
