Well we finally got some good weather to host today’s game at Hacienda Riquelme and some of you had clearly been saving your best golf until the sun came out.  It was nice to welcome a new Amigo in Vinod Dave and hope he will join us again in the not too distant future. As mentioned earlier, there was some good scoring today and one exceptional round, so onto the individual results:
Category 1 
Honourable mentions in Cat 1 go to: Jill Sheridan 36pts (pipped for 2nd only by a lower handicap player), Andy Wasik 32pts & Annette Deeley 32pts, but all the plaudits for today go to Kirk Green with a remarkable gross 74 and 44 pts tally:-.

Runner-Up : Alastair Sporne : 36 points (lower handicap)
Category 2 
No honourable mentions for this group for the second consecutive week (come on Cat 2 players what’s happening?):-
Winner : Ash Patel : 30 points (winning by virtue of a lower handicap)
Runner-Up : Bob Lancaster : 30 points
Category 3

Team Competition 
The format for today was a tough one with a ‘theoretical par score’ being 140. When I managed to unpick the confusion that the incorrect information I gave to the starters created, we had one team that beat this score – a very impressive achievement indeed.
Winners : Team 3 : 150 points
Kirk Green, Andy Wasik, Richard Deeley & Steve Cockeram
Runners-Up : Team 6 : 134 points 
Alastair Sporne, Ash Patel, Brian Stobbs & John Millroy
 
Other team scores were: Team 8 = 125pts, Team 1 = 122pts, Team 5 = 119pts, Team 2 = 118pts, Teams 4 & 7 = 117pts, Team 9 = 90pts.
 
Congratulations to today’s sharpshooters; Nearest the Pin: Hole 7 = Alastair Sporne, Hole 10 (in 2) = Andy Wasik & Hole 17 = Kirk Green.

The 2’s club took a battering today with us paying out more money than we actually took in. We paid out on a total of SEVEN 2’s with 5 being on hole 5 and 2 being on hole 17 – clearly the greens were rolling a little better today 😊

It was great to be out playing golf in the warm, sunny weather again and lets hope it stays this way for our next game at El Plantio in 2 weeks time. The €56 rate at El Plantio is ‘buggy inclusive’ so we will assume everyone wants a buggy unless you specifically tell us you do not (no cost reduction I am afraid).
Thank you to everyone that has paid their deposit for our Amigos Anniversary trip to La Sella on 26/27 May’22 as we need to pay Marriott Hotel in 2 weeks time. The payment of the balance occurs very soon after so, if you have not already done so, please consider making your final payments as soon as possible..
