Hola AMIGOS

It’s always good to take a full house to El Valle and I hope that everyone, especially the new Amigos enjoyed their day. The scoring was OK, far from being spectacular, but with good scores from the Prize Winners.
Category 1 - Individual
Mark Digby and Dave Hooper you are mentioned with 34 points but Andy Reeves and Hans Nout honourably so with 36 points but two Player 1’s where all their scores counted on every hole were remarkable:-
Winner : Terry Wallington : 39 points,
Runner-Up : Alastair Sporne : 37 points

Category 2 - Individual
Bob Lancaster and Stan Lalley you are mentioned with 33 points but, alas, Carol Cockeram you missed the podium with your 36 points having a higher handicap, but well done and congratulations to the top two family members:-
Winner : H Clarke : 37 points,
Runner-Up : Caz Clarke : 36 points

Team Competition
With this competition 3 scores counted but Player 1’s points were always a part of those scores. This little ‘twist’ deflated the scores and only the two successful teams exceeded standard par of 108 points where in the prizes. Very well played and exceptionally well played:-
Winners : Team 1 : 119 points
Terry Wallington, Mark Digby, Dave Hooper and Bob Lancaster
Runners-Up: Team 9 : 109 points
Rob Buckey, Steve Fenlon, Stan Lalley and Graham Field.
Other team scores were: Teams 2 & 7 = 106pts, Team 3 = 100pts, Teams 8 & 10 = 99pts, Team 6 = 98pts, Team 4 = 95pts, Team 5 = 92pts.

Well done today’s ‘Nearest the Pin’ sharpshooters but disappointingly none of you holed out for a two! However, advantage goes to the charity pot!

The next game is a real treat where we play Lo Romero and at a bargain price of €50,00 including a shared buggy and that is on Thursday 21 Jul’22 followed by two GNK courses, Thursday 28 Jul’22 at Hacienda Riquelme and Thursday 04 Aug’22 at La Torre. Places are available but please be quick.
The day wouldn’t have gone smoothly without the efforts of the Organisers, Bob Lancaster, Dave Hughes, John Mair, Dave Hooper and Brian Platt in the ‘back office’.
I hope that the casualties who couldn’t make El Valle recover quickly and thank you to the late substitutes for filling up the Start Sheet.
A well deserved break is up next week but see you next at Lo Romero in a couple of weeks.
