Hola AMIGOS
Well, you have set the bar very high today, you have proven that you can get around a golf course in under 4 and half hours and challenging available daylight! Now that is very impressive, congratulations every Amigo in each of 14 flights! Whilst, we Organisers, believed it was always achievable it wasn’t until the last card was returned that we could relax. But how did you play?
With an Odds & Evens Team format and expecting 90 Stableford points to break even most of you exceeded or got very close to same so congratulations one and all. The winning score was way ahead of the rest and this winning Team deserved all the plaudits:-
Winners : Team 12 : 103 points
Ron Weller, Gary Joseph, Harry Rice and Dave Hughes
Runners-Up : Team 9 : 98 points
Terry Wallington, Colin Hynd, Vilma Krinks and Lee Murfit
3rd Places : Team 2 : 96 points
Iain Stewart, Neil McCann, Bob Lancaster and David Pearce
Showing us how to target the Flags were Ron Weller, Hole 7; Brian Platt, Hole 11; Terry Wallington, Hole 12 (in 2) and a shot which could have proven very very expensive was well created by Bob Lancaster on Hole 13!
We have some stunning competition venues left before the end of the year so should you not have booked your favourites yet please do register or let me know. Whilst many are showing ‘fully booked’ we always keep a reserve list and many do get to play. Do check out the website.
And, just a couple for Jan’25; we visit Desert Springs in Almeria on 09 Jan’25, it’s very special and achievable to get there (it’s not that far away), play and return in a day.
We also return to Roda Golf on Thursday 23 Jan’25 (where the Low Season rates will be €53,00 and €63,00 including half share buggy and first tee at 09.30 am) and where we will announce and present the Race to La Finca special prizes.
Thank you Organisers and Helpers, Harry Rice, Iain Stewart, Brian Platt, Bob Lancaster, Dave Hughes, Mick Lynch, Terry Wallington and Ron Weller and especially you Amigos for your patience waiting to applaud the winning Teams.
And finally, of special mention, how good it was to have Mark Seed join us on the start sheet and to see Henrik Tonnisen looking well alongside all of you returnees!
Our next competition will be at Villamartin on Thursday 21 Nov’24 where we look forward to seeing you and remember the competition bench mark has been set at 4 and half hours! 😂
Hasta Luego
Graham🤓👍
