Thank you all for joining us at La Serena and despite having very late casualties we did managed to get 6 x 4-balls away. Despite the newness of the course for some, the ‘not played for a long time’ others and those more used to the ‘water and wind’ challenge offered by the La Serena course we hope you enjoyed your day and well played.

Two Category competitions were run separately to suit the differing skill levels of the golfers which proved to be confirmed by the scoring:

Category 1
Many congratulations go to our honourably mentioned players, John Burgess & Graham Booth, 33 Stableford points, but with an outstanding first ever round here and clearly the best of the day:-
Winner : Eddie Beale : 41 points

And the only team to beat standard par of 108 points and with the water shots not counting:-
Winners : Team 2 : 113 points
Alastair Sporne, Richard MacDonald, Mark Seed and Graham Booth.
Runners-up : Team 3 : 101 points;
3rd Place : Team 4 : 100 points

Category 2
Rich Worsley 28 points and Graham Field, just loosing out on a higher handicap, 32 points but well deserved plaudits go to:-
Winner : Harry Rice : 32 points

The teams scores were well down on the illustrious Category 1 Teams but many congratulations still go to:- 
Winners : Team 6 : 91 points
Harry Rice, Brian Stobbs, Graham Field and Rich Worsley
Runners-up : Team 4 : 87 points;
3rd Place : Team 5 : 76 points.

Many apologies for all the balls you played into the water or water hazard, but wasn’t that down to you?  88 balls got wet but well done Richard MacDonald for winning the sweepstake with a guess of 85!
We have a break next week but good luck to those of you who are selected to play in the inaugural GNK League, then Amigos next competition is at La Torre on 22 Apr’21 and Roda Golf on 29 Apr’21. The bookings for Roda, in particular are quite heavy already so do reserve your place as soon as possible to guarantee playing.
