We never quite reached the heights of Saurines this time did we?  Performances were just OK albeit we had a much tougher course to contend with and we threw in some medal holes to test you. But, as always, the two or three stand out scores suggested Hacienda Riquelme can be tamed!

Category 1 : Individual
Gary McAlpine, Iain Stewart and John Boyle, 33 points are mentioned and Gordon Hutchinson honourably so and just losing out on a prize due to having a higher handicap.  But there is no doubting our Anniversary Cup Champion’s outstanding and consistent performance, clearly the best of the day.
Winner : Steve Fitzpatrick : 42 points (a worthy inclusion to the elite Forties Club!)
Runner-Up : Brian Platt : 35 points

Category 2 : Individual
Rudy Ceusters, 34 points, H Clarke, 35 points are mentioned and Jon Webster’s 36 points is worthy of more than a passing mention. However two standout players returned excellent scores, many congratulations.
Winner : Anthony Gray : 39 points
Runner-Up : Lee Murfet : 38 points

Team Competition:
Anticipating returns of less than 20 points standard par for this Medalford Format 9 Teams easily surpassed this total. Three Teams shared the podium places on 5 points and were only separated by lower combined handicaps. But well played you guys:-
Winners : Team 1 : 5 points
Damion Cox, Brian Platt, Lee Murfet and Paul Best (Ghost)
Runners-Up : Team 7 : 5 points
Hans Nout, Gordon Hutchinson, Carol Brand and H Clarke
3rd Place : Team 9 : 5 points
John Boyle, Anthony Gray, Rudy Ceusters and David Wells.
Other team scores were: Teams 2 & 10 = 6pts, Teams 8 & 11 = 9pts, Team 3 = 11pts, Team 4 = 15pts, Team 6 = 23pts, Team 5 = 34pts.

There was no doubting the two sharpshooter’s well drilled shots finishing Closest to the Pins today. Congratulations Neville Custance, Hole 4 (In 3) and Hole 6 (In 2) and  Lee Hood, Hole 5 and Hole 7 and also the only Two of the day on Hole 15.
