Hola AMIGOS
By all accounts you had a great day at La Finca?  Great location, great camaraderie and great value for money but what was your golf like?  Well just OK generally, but some good performances and with a few notable exceptions!
Category 1
David Henshall-Brown and Paul Sawyers, 31 pts, Anette Deeley, 32 pts and Brad Rees, 33 pts you are all mentioned but our front runners were a cut above. Many congratulations:-

Runner-Up : Klaus Hummel : 35 pts
Category 2
This Category faired better and the three Carols are honourably mentioned, Carol Henshall-Brown, 34 pts, Caroline Cherry and Carolous Brand, 35 pts.  Your runner-up scored very well but the winner was outstanding, best of the day and so pleased he reserved this performance for an Amigos Competition;-
Winner : Dave Robinson : 41 pts!
Runner-Up : Mick Lynch : 36 pts
Category 3
And some very good performances in this league with mentionables, Dave Robinson (Robbo) and Vince Mifsud, 36 pts and how close were our runners-up?  Unfortunately Rob Henshaw and Bob Lancaster, 37 pts just missed out on the top spot by virtue of a higher handicaps.  Many congratulations, however, for good results:-
Winner : Tiina Hurst : 37 pts
Runner-Up : Bob Lancaster : 37 pts (next lowest handicap)

​Team Competition
With our ‘Magic 7’s’ format any Team score with 0 and above is considered a good day at the Office and 9 Teams out of 11 achieved this, so good going.  The podium places, however went to some strong Teams helped by good individual scores.
Winners : Team 4 : +16 pts
Paul Sawyers, Andy Reeves, Caroline Cherry and Rob Henshaw
Runners-Up : Team 11 : +14 pts
Kersten Rammeloo, Mick Lynch, Harry Rice and Richard Deeley
3rd Place : Team 6 : +7 pts
Terry Wallington, Klaus Hummel, Carol Brand and Ken Sewell

​And the sharpshooters?  One guy was particularly razor sharp and dominated the events.  Well done Iain Stewart. Nearest the Pins: Hole 3 - Bob Lancaster, Hole 6 - Iain Stewart, Hole 13 - Iain Stewart, Hole 16 - Vince Mifsud and the only ‘Two’ of the day was achieved on Hole 13 by, you’ve guessed it, Iain Stewart!

​Whilst we always have a lot of fun with our Team games Amigos are always so pleased to acknowledge sustained Individual golf performances, which are always a feature of our competitions so, many many congratulations go to the Order of Merit Competition winners for 01 May’22 – 31 Aug’22, Category 1 (and for the second time in its history) Gordon Hutchinson and Category 2, Harry Rice.  Everyone is included for the next OOM so some good starts and so other competitions to work for others.

Thank you everyone else who took part, pushed our winners and contributed to the day; please do look at the website in a couple of days or so to see how you performed. Many thanks, of course go to the day’s starters and new to the job, Terry Wallington and Iain Stewart, Harry Rice who is always on the money and Bob Lancaster for holding the reins! Amigos next game is on Thursday 22 Sep’22 at Vistabella where we have lots of great announcements, information and details to share with you.  Looking forward to that one!
One last point is that we are so sorry that we could not accommodate more Amigos, today’s start list was assembled fairly on a first come first served basis and filled to our maximum allocation of tee-times.  Thank you guys for your loyalty and please do keep posting your name.
