We were delighted to take you to Font del Llop today and especially to witness Harry Rice achieving his spectacular and lifetime best by scoring 49 stableford points (YES, 49 points) in one game!  Well done Harry! It was so pleasing also to welcome new Amigos and old friends amongst you regulars and introduce many of you to a new golf venue. There is more to golf life than GNK courses! And we hope that you enjoyed this challenge. How did everyone else perform, other than Harry?!  On the whole very well with many scores in both categories in the 30’s and a couple of others in the 40’s too.

Category 1 : Individual 
You guys, Jon Thompson, 38 points, Iain Stewart, 37, Dave Maskens and Mike Dagnall, 35 points are certainly honourably mentioned and your scores would have won on others occasions.  But many congratulations to two players joining the forties club:-
Winner : Colin Walters : 42 points
Runner-Up : Andy Wasik : 41 points
Category 2 : Individual 
Again would be winners on other occasions honourably mentioned are Rob Henshaw, 38 points, Gerry Burton, 36 and Bente Hornshoej Hansen, 35. But no one could get any closer to our winner with his commanding 10 point lead ahead of second place and 7 points clear of the field.

Runner-Up : Graham Field : 39 points

Team  Competition 
With a standard par of 108 combined points for this Stableford 234 format 8 out of 11 Teams exceeded same which is an exceptional achievement. And even without any 40+ players the winning team combined well to leave the rest of the field behind them:-

Runners-Up : Team 11 : 122 points
Ron Weller, Lynn Lalley, Sus Tonnisen and Harry Rice
3rd Place : Team 10 : 116 points

Other Team scores were: Team 3 = 115pts, Team 2 & Team 8 = 114pts, Team 5 = 113pts, Team 1 = 109pts, Team 9 = 101pts, Team 6 = 100pts, Team 7 = 92pts.

Our sharp shooters that managed to score 2's this week (No NTPs) were: John Burgess & Jonathon Thompson on hole 3, Andy Wasik on hole 8 and Stan Lalley on hole 12.

We continue with our varied ‘away’ golf venues with visits to La Serena on Thursday 23 Mar’23, Bonalba (a must for those who have never been) on Thursday 30 Mar’23 and Roda Golf the week after.  For those new to Amigos we have a golf adventure on our anniversary on 25/26 May’23 to Marina Playa In Mojacar  for two days of golf, dinner and overnight accommodation.  Please refer to the website or contact Bob Lancaster as we still have a few places left.
