What a fine Amigos Tour event today at Roda Golf with a temperature conducive to good scoring, but how did you fair? Well, I would assess as modestly good but not outstanding!
Category 1
Not a lot of difference between the categories this time but many a ‘good day at the office’ 30+ scores. Honourably mentioned are Steve Jones and Brian Platt, 32 points, and Neville Custance, 33 points but many congratulations our one and two:-
Winner : Mike Lynch : 39 points (and best of the day!)
Runner-Up : Stuart Ellis : 35 points
Category 2
The 30+ club sees honourable mentions for Stan Lalley and Dennis Morrison, 31 points, Carol Brand, 33 points and Sus Tonnisen with 34 points. But all the plaudits went to:-
Winner : Graham Field :37 points
Runner-Up : Harry Rice : 36 points
Team competition 
This ‘Magic 7’s’ format stretched many today with every player having to contribute on every hole.  And it’s great when nobody really knows what is a good result until announced!  Any score recorded as a plus is a very good return and 3 Teams returned positive results and deserved their prizes.
Winners : Team 2 : +7 points
Charlie O’Shea, Graham Booth, Harry Rice and Sus Tonnisen
Runners-Up : Team 6 : +6 : 106 points
Dot Jones, Neville Custance, Steve Fitzpatrick and Graham Field
Third Place : Team 1 : +4 points
Brian Platt, Carol Brand, Lynn Lalley and David Elwell
Other team scores were: Team 5 = -3pts, Team 10 = -6pts, Team 4 = -7pts, Team 3 & Team 7 = -9pts, Team = -10pts, Team 9 = -11pts.

And, today’s target shooters, many congratulations Steve Jones Nearest the Pin on Hole 7, the island green and Graham Field for the only two of the day on Hole 13.

The presentation also included the awarding of the Order of Merit Trophy which was won for the second time in a row by Amigos most consistent golfer, Alastair Sporne with 183 points, many congratulations and with an average score of 36+ per game over 10 games with a handicap under five is quite special, well done.
