Josie Aves you are Ace!
There’s only one headline today isn’t there?  Many many congratulations from all at Amigos, your playing partners and all players, on your perfect shot!
How did everyone else fare?  Both the course playing conditions and format put paid to good scores although there were a few exceptions.
Category 1 : Individual 
Nothing of significance here but I am sure that the greens weren’t receptive to your proper readings.  However, well done Gordon Hutchinson, 31 points but the prizes go to two very good players:-
Winner : Alastair Sporne : 34 points
Runner-Up : Andy Wasik : 33 points
Category 2 : Individual 
Worthy of mention for returning good scores are Neville Custance, 35 points, Vince Mifsud, 34 points, Carol Brand, 32 points and Bob Lancaster 31 points, well done guys but the plaudits go to two outstanding performances which were the very best of the day. A ‘hole in one’ didn’t overawe your leader, he was magnificent:-
Winner : Henrik Tonnisen : 42 points!
Runner-Up : Josie Aves : 41 points!
Category 3
Sus Tonnisen and Rob Henshaw, 34 points, Morag O’Shea, 32 points and Lynne Hind, 31 points had something to shout about but the outstanding Category 3 players deserving all the  congratulations are:-
Winner : Tony Foster : 37 points
Runner-Up : Dave Hughes

Team Competition 
With an expected standard par of 72 points the format of ‘two highest’ and ‘two lowest’ over the 18 holes certainly added that extra pressure and ‘downsized’ the result as the competition title suggested!  However all Team winners deserved credit even though some of the margins were very close.
Category 1 : Team 4 : 68 points
Brian Platt, Andy Wasik, Charlie O’Shea and Gordon Hutchinson 
Other team scores in this category were: Team 1 = 64pts, Team 2 = 62pts, Team 3 = 55pts
Category 2 : Team 5 : 75 points
Neville Custance, Colin Gallacher, Carol Brand and Harry Rice
Other team scores in this category were: Team 7 = 69pts, Team 6 = 67pts
Category 3 : Team 11 : 71 points
Dave Hughes, Aidan Lowe, Brian Stobbs and Patricia Gingell.
Other team scores in this category were: Teams 8 & 9 = 71pts, Team 10 = 67pts

There was only one genuine sharpshooter today wasn’t there Josie with your ace on Hole 5?  But these guys showed their true prowess recording two’s; Neville Custance and Andy Wasik also on Hole 5 and Tony Foster on Hole 17,   very well done.
