Hola AMIGOS

t was great to see so many returnees this week intermixed with one or two new faces amongst you regulars.  We thank you for remembering us and your support.  With such a full house it did enable a mix of players who have not played together before. So how did you perform?  Tough going for Category 1 players but forward tees and lots of shots gave the higher handicappers an advantage and also a ‘feel good’ factor?

Category 1 : Individual
Respectable returns worthy of mentions were Ron Weller, current Lonrah Champion, and Stephen Perkins, 32 stableford points, Steve Jones, 33 points and Andy Wasik, 34 points. No mistaking our Category winners though, well clear of the field and separated only by handicap status.  Many congratulations:-

Runner-Up : Darren Bakes : 37 points

Category 2 : Individual
Some very good scoring saw an addition to the ‘Forties Club’ on the podium and well deserving of all the plaudits but with only honourable mentions for Lynn Lalley, 36 points and Jill Sheridan, Carol Henshall-Brown and Rob Henshaw, 37 this clearly demonstrated how competitive this Category was.  Well done everyone.

Runner-Up : Poul Friis Hansen : 39

Category 3 : Individual
Similar to Category 2, fine returns by Steve Fitzpatrick and Richard Deeley, 36 points, Simon Hastings, 37 points and Bente Hornshoej Hansen, 38 points could only be honourable mentioned.  36+ points could win a Category on another day! But well done your winner now mentioned again in the ‘Forties Club’

Runner-Up : Stuart Roden : 39 points

Team Categories
More akin to a football line-up our stableford 4-2-4 proved a tricky formation for golf and with a standard par of 108 points only 3 Teams exceeded that target.  But whatever the final total I am sure that you had fun getting there?

Other team scores were: Cat 1: Team 4 = 99pts, Team 3 = 93pts, Team 1 = 92pts. Cat 2: Team 9 = 106pts, Team 8 = 103pts, Team 5 = 98pts. Cat 3: Team 12 = 110pts, Team 10 = 103pts, Team 11 = 102pts, Team 7 = 95pts.

Precision Target Shooting saw, Ken Sewell (Hole 3), Lynn Lalley (Hole 5), Darren Bakes (Hole 9), An Van Den Borre (Hole 15) and Colin Walters (Hole 17) get closest to the Flags with only 2 x Two’s recorded, Bob Lancaster (Hole 5) and Lynn Lalley (Hole 15).  Well done Guys and also a good result for the Charity Pot on a course with 6 x Par 3’s!
