It goes without saying that La Finca is one of the very best golf venues we have in our portfolio and we are always delighted to have you join us there.  The quality of the golf course, ambiance, weather, service and Amigos looking for a good score is always a recipe for a great golf day, but was it?

Category 1 : Individual 
No not really, average to par with many returns in the low 30’s but the podium places were respectable. Well done to all and honourable mentions can be awarded to the 34 pointers, Steve Fitzpatrick, Ron Weller and Martin Hennessey, debutant Dave Watson, 35 points and Iain Stewart missing out on 36 on a higher handicap. Congratulations to our top 3:-
Winner : Jonathan Webster : 37 points
Runner-Up : Alan Kilminster : 36 points (h/c 10.9)
3rd Place : Mark Cocker : 36 points (h/c 11.8)

Category 1 : Team Competition 
96 is standard for this Stableford format and most Teams were there or thereabouts but the clear winners by a margin and deserving of your plaudits were:-
Winners : Team 9 : 105 points
Gary McAlpine Alan Kilminster, Shane Bordier and Gail Duffield.
Other Cat 1 team scores were: Teams 10 & 8 = 100pts, Team 5 = 99pts, Team 4 = 97pts, Team 3 = 96pts, Team 2 = 85pts.

Category 2 : Individual 
Apart from the 1-2-3 it would seem that so many Amigos were more interested in the scenery than the Golf with an average much less than that of the Category 1 players. But so it should be. But well played everyone and especially Cathy Hoyne and Graham Field, mentioned with 33 points apiece and Diane Nicholls honourable so with 34 points. Congratulations though for Runner-Up and Third Place but your Winner not only produced some excellent golf, best of the day in fact and deserved applause but also joins the Amigos Forties Club:-
Winner : Tiina Hurst : 40 points
Runner-Up : Harry Rice : 37 points (h/c 21.1)
Third Place :  Carol Brand : 37 points (h/c 22.0)

Category 2 : Team  Competition
Some very respectable scoring in this category and you seem to blend together better as Teams rather than as individuals. However having Amigos named above together in a Team the result ought to have been good and so it proved. Many congratulations:-
Winners : Team 13 : 108 points
Stan Lalley, Harry Rice, Tiina Hurst and Diane Nicholls
Other Cat 2 team scores were: Team 11 = 95pts, Teams 1 & 14 = 93pts, Team 12 = 89pts, Team 6 = 83pts, Team 7 = 82pts.

There were 6 opportunities today to threaten the flagsticks for prizes and these were your Sharpshooters. Stephen Day, Hole 5 (In 4); Gary McAlpine, Hole 6; Emmet Loftus (In 3), Hole 7; Russell Fisher, Hole 13; Damon White, Hole 16 and Dave Watson (In 3), Hole 17 and Steve Fitzpatrick shot the only 2 of the day on Hole 13. Well played you Amigos.

Our next fixture Amigos v Golden Bears will be played out at Lo Romero next week and is now a sellout. Las Colinas hosts our golf competition on Thursday 27 Jun’24, VIstabella on Thursday 04 Jul’24 and a return to Hacienda Riquelme on Thursday 11 Jun’24.
