What a great day at Alenda! Everyone seemed to enjoy it, the weather was fantastic, the course was great (a few dodgy spots on some greens but all very playable) and a super place for us to congregate after the game - we will definitely be back here again. This week we trialled the 'prepayment method' for the first time and it seems to have been successful with 55% of players taking advantage of it. It is something we hope to use on many (but not all) future games.

The course proved to be quite a challenge with only one player beating par in the individuals and no team getting close to the very tough theoretical par in this format of 148pts.

Individual Competition
Whilst we had a clear winner it was very tight for the other places in this weeks individual competition, where we plkayed a single category with prizes for 1st to 4th. Honourable mentions this week go to: Ken Sewell 35 points, Brian Platt 34 points & Richard Deeley 34 points but our prize takers were:
Winner : Martyn Clapp, 37 points
Second Place : Dave Robinson: 35 points (on lower handicap)
Third Place : Rod Howarth: 35 points (on lower handicap)
Fourth Place : Rudy Ceusters: 35 points (on lower handicap)

Team Competition
With 16 holes where someone can score double points this is a high pressure format and it was interesting to see how close the scores were at the top of our leaderboard. Our 4 top scoring teams were within 3 points of each other and 2nd place was decided by 'lowest team handicap':-
Winners : Team 6 : 139 points
Annette Deeley, Jill Sheridan, Vince Mifsud and Ken Sewell.
Second : Team 9 : 137 points
Dave Robinson, Vinod Dave, Dave Hughes and Bob Lancaster.

Other team scores were: Team 4 = 137pts, Team 2 = 136pts, Team 3 = 134pts, Team 10 = 134pts, Team 5 = 126pts, Team 7 = 126pts, Team 1 = 120pts, Team 8 = 107pts.

With no NTPs today our sharpshooters were restricted to scoring 2's to win prizes and only 1 person managed to do that. Congratulations to Gail Duffield for her solo 2 on hole 16.

We currently have availability for our matches at El Valle, on 01 Dec’22, La Torre on 08 Dec’22 (change from Alhama as that course will not be available post 1/12), at Villamartin on 22 Dec’22 and our showpiece Themed New Year Competition at Las Colinas on Thursday 29 Dec’22. Please register now and for all other games send Graham Field an email if you cannot get on the register as he has managed to secure an extra tee-time at some of the courses.
