21/03/24 LA SERENA
ARCHIVED RESULT FROM
Hola AMIGOS
Not the best of conditions for golf yesterday, least of all at La Serena, the Water Course! It was, however, good to see so many of you Amigos return to the start sheet and meet up again.
But how did you play? On the whole and due largely to the weather, and maybe the format, results were on this occasion somewhat average, far from being stand out. But hopefully fun?!
Category 1 : Individual
Colin Walters, Henrik Tonnisen and Steve Fitzpatrick, 32 Stableford points and Terry Wellington, 33 points, you are hereby mentioned. It is surprising though that 34 points can get you on the podium but it does happen. Your one/two produced category winning scores though and separated only on handicap detail, congratulations to the winners and well done all.
Winner : Ragnar Hilmarsson : 37 points (Handicap 14.5)
Runner-Up : Mick Lynch : 37 points (Handicap 15.5)
Third Place : Poul Friis Hansen : 34 points
Category 2 : Individual
Another low scoring category with podium places taken by scorers who would, on another day not be there. However, it is always good to support the unpredictable! Gary Conway, Mo Khan and Rob Henshaw, 30, Simon Hastings, 31 and Rudy Ceusters, 32 points are mentioned. The winner thoroughly deserved his first prize with his par score, congratulations and again, well done all.
Winner : Bob Lancaster : 36 points
Runner-Up : Alan Leonard : 33 points
3rd Place : Patrick Dumon: 32 points
Team Competition
With a combined standard par of 108 points only one Team managed to surpass same with every other Team counting the loss of golf balls to water hazards, no doubt, and excluding themselves from contributing to the Team totals.
Winners : Team 7 : 113 points
Ragnar Hilmarsson, Mick Lynch, Simon Hastings and Mo Khan (Ghost)
Runners-Up : Team 5 : 103 points
Terry Wallington, Andy Wasik, Mick Higgins and Bob Lancaster
3rd Places : Team 7 : 101 points.
Colin Walters, Bill Scarth, An Van Den Borre and Liz Murty
Other team scores were: Team 13 = 97pts, Team 2 = 96pts, Teams 1 & 5 = 95pts, Team 11 = 92pts, Team 4 = 91pts, Team 9 = 90pts, Team 10 = 86pts, Team 3 = 85pts, Team 8 = 84pts.
Your sharpshooters getting closest to the 4 Par 3 Flags were, Andy Wasik, Hole 3; Bente Hornshoj Hansen, Hole 9; Steve Fitzpatrick, Hole 15 and Colin Walters, Hole 17. And masterfully claiming ‘Two’s’ were Andy Wasik, Hole 3 and Jill Sheridan on Holes 15 and 17. Many congratulations.
And just for fun the Team with the combined highest loss of balls to the water, amongst those recorded, received a bag of lake balls to replenish their stocks!
Steven Koutstaal, George Long, Graham Field and Gary Conway!
