22/2/24 RODA

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola AMIGOS
It appeared to be a great occasion today at Roda Golf with an amazing mix of old and new Amigos enjoying each other’s post game company in the sunshine. And how good it was to see the return of some very old faces. But was this camaraderie a celebration of quality rounds of golf or commiserations? I think it leant more towards the latter, but let’s see:-

Category 1 : Individual
Not brilliant and not too bad, average scores really and only punctuated with a worthy winner. Iain Stewart and Ron Weller, 32 Stableford points, Brian Platt and Colin Walters, 33 and Paul Baxendale, 35 are honourably mentioned. And Paul only missing out on a podium place by virtue of a higher handicap (15.9). Congratulations all:-
Winner : Martin Hennessey : 37 points
Runner-Up : Malcolm Weaver : 35 points (lowest handicap 14.0)
3rd Place : Brian Headley : 35 points (15.7)

Category 2 : Individual
Average, above average and below average returns were recorded but respectable on the whole. Bea Van Rijn, 32 points, Henrik Tonnisen and Paul Best, 33 points and Billy Cashman, 34 points (28.7) you are all honourably mentioned. Very well played and how good was that winning total and best of the day, congratulations:-
Winner : Steve Atkinson : 39 points
Runner-Up : Harry Rice : 34 points (lower handicap 21.2)
3rd Place : Graeme Herdman : 34 points (22.2)

Team Competition
With this Odds and Evens Stableford format 90 points was standard par and 2/3rds of the field achieved this so very well played everyone. Good teamwork! But with two Individual winners in the same team the outcome was expected. Very well played all of the Teams taking the podium places:-
Winners : Team 1 : 107 points
Brian Platt, Martin Hennessey, Steve Atkinson and Eddy Murty
Runners-Up : Team 10 : 100 points
Colin Walters, Brian Headley, Tom Duncan and Billy Cashman
Third Place : Team 2 : 94 points
Stuart Ellis, Iain Stewart, Alan McDonald and Graham Platts.
Other team scores were: Teams 8 & 12 = 93pts, Teams 6, 7 & 9 = 92pts, Team 3 = 83pts, Teams 4 & 5 = 81pts, Team 11 = 80pts.

And on Roda’s Amen Corner your sharpshooters were Mick Hughes, Hole 11; Brian Platt, Hole 12 (In 2); Annick D’Anvers, Hole 13 and Mick Hughes, Hole 14 (In 2) and the Charity Pot breathes a sigh of relief as only Harry Rice recorded a 2!

La Marquesa, Thursday 29 Feb’24; Alhama Signature, Thursday 07 Mar’24; La Serena, Thursday 21 Mar’24 and Hacienda del Alamo, Thursday 28 Mar’24. Gracias
Graham
