ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hi Amigos,
Thank you all for supporting Amigos afternoon kick off with a full house.  A complicated set of circumstances led to this timing and unfortunately precluded a number of you staying for the presentation which was quite understandable. Morning starts are still our norm.
How did you perform?  Well, our Amigos Ladies took to the water course like ducks to water producing significant results in all categories, many congratulations.

Category 1 : Individual
Some good scoring, as would be expected in this category with Iain Stewart and Ron Weller, 34 points, Graham Booth, 35 and Andy Wasik and Emmett Loftus, 36 points all deserving honourable mentions.  But significantly outstanding results were recorded by our podium place winners, and joining the ‘Forties Club’ to boot were:-
Winner : Jill Sheridan : 42 points
Runner-Up : John Boyle : 41 points
And thank you John for the entertainment whilst we were backed up on the Par 3 third hole!

Category 2 : Individual
Not such high scoring in this division but mentioned in passing, An Van Den Borre and Carol Henshall Brown, 31 points, Mick Lynch, 33 points and honourably mentioned is John Burgess with 36 points.  There was no problem with the leaders though with yet another Amigo joining the ‘Forties Club’:-
Winner : Sus Tonnisen : 41 points
Runner-Up : Harry Rice : 37 points

Category 3 : Individual
Keeping your balls dry seemed to be the problem in Category 3 where scores were considerably lower, a tough day, but congratulations go to our prize winners and mentions to Rudy Ceusters and guest Val Orme with 32 points and an honourable one for Bea Van Rijn having a good day at the office with 34 points:-
Winner : Simon Hastings : 35 points (on lower handicap)
Runner-Up : John Fox :  35 points

Team Competition
Anticipating surpassing standard par of 108 points with the 2-3-4 Waltz format only four Teams met the target. Many congratulations to those who did, especially Team 2 with 110 points (Andy Wasik, Lynn Lalley, Carol Henshall-Brown and Simon Hastings) but hats off to the Ladies:-
Winners : Team 4 : 118 points
Lesley Mifsud, Val Orme, Sus Tonnisen, and Beatrice Lange Sanchez
Runners-Up : Team 8 : 111 points
Jill Sheridan, An Van Den Borre, Brigette Nihon and Lynne Hynd
Other team scores were: Team 2 = 102pts, Team 10 = 108pts, Team 11 = 106pts, Teams 3 & 7 = 103pts, Team 9 = 100pts, Team 1 = 99pts, Team 12 = 97pts, Team 5 = 95pts, Team 6 = 91pts.

Target shooting was tricky but you guys managed to get very close with a couple of conversions. Nearest the Pins, Hole 7 (In 3), Colin Walters, Hole 9, Sus Tonnisen, Hole 13 (In 2), Brian Platt and Hole 17, Jill Sheridan.  And for the ‘Two’s’ Simon Hastings, Martin Hennessey and Sus Tonnisen holed out on 9, An Van Den Borre on 15 and Jill Sheridan on 17.

Many congratulations goes to everyone else who played a part to make the competition a success especially Team Mifsud and Team Hughes and their guests, thank you for joining us. And those who missed their prizes will be presented at the next opportunity. Thank you’s go to our Organisers, Tee-boy Andrew Smithurst, Money minders Harry Rice and Bob Lancaster, Pics, Brian Stobbs and keyboard duo Brian Platt and Iain Stewart.

Please do support our trip to Bonalba next week, we go to great lengths to introduce you to new courses which offer completely different golf experiences.  It’s not overly far and I am sure you guys can organise car sharing between yourselves?
What a day!
