24/02/22 LAS RAMBLAS
ARCHIVED RESULT FROM
Hola Amigos
Thank you to everyone who supported our Competition at Las Ramblas yesterday. But did you love the course or hate it? Will you rush back to play there again? On the whole our feedback was very positive and the unusual Team matchplay format on this tricky and challenging track at least protected your handicaps!
How did you fare? With four equally handicapped Teams the results showed a larger margin than expected. The totals were calculated on a two points per win and one point for a tie on each hole with an individual’s tally going into the final Players 1, Players 2, Players 3 or Players 4 Team’s score. On this occasion many congratulations go to our winning Team:-
Winners : Team Players 3 : 117 points
Tiina Hurst, Brian Platt, Gordon Hutchinson, Brian Stobbs, Lynne Hind, Carol Brand, Tom Duncan, Stuart Ellis, Martin Hennessey and Henrik Tonnisen
And fine individual scores by Tiina Hurst, 21 points, Tom Duncan, 18 points, Brian Platt 15 points certainly gave this Team the edge. And well done Dave Hughes too who scored 16 points.
And the Runners-Up; Team Players 4 returned 101 points; Team Players 2, 86 points and Team Players 1, 78 points.
Who were the best target shooters? With our own ‘Amen Corner’ the opportunity was there for all to get close and these guys were deserving of all plaudits:-
Hole 4 (in 4), Vince Mifsud; Hole 5 (in 2), Tony Syme and Hole 6, Brian Platt
And the speciality ‘Two’s Club’ now admits Carol Brand and Brian Platt for Hole 6 twos and John Howarth and Malcolm Weaver, Hole 10 twos, very well played indeed.
Next week’s fixture at El Valle is showing ‘fully booked’ but please do send me an email should you wish to be added to the reserve list. We have also re-arranged the 10 Mar’22 venue to Hacienda Riquelme (not La Torre now) where we can accommodate more of you who want to join us and also at a special low season rate, €39,00 walking and €44,00 with buggy. A generous offer at this time but also reflecting the playing conditions.
Finally for those registered for the La Sella trip, we do need to know your room type and activity in order to finalise numbers for the Hotel, so please do let me know soonest if you haven’t already. You do have a little more time to pay your deposit though. And, we are aware that a few of you cannot make positive decisions yet but please do let us know soonest as our target number is getting closer.
Thank you once again and especially to all of our Organisers and Helpers who try their hardest to make your golf experience ‘seamless’.
Hasta luego
Graham
