25/04/24 MAR MENOR

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola AMIGOS
Course closures and delays have not allowed us to play at Mar Menor for quite some time but we certainly went there and did the business yesterday!  Thank you so much for your curiosity, interest patience and support and hope that you all enjoyed your day. The mix of regulars, irregulars, returnees, casual and committed, Mar Menor members, other outside golf course members and even those discarding their crutches to play, and you all know which category you fit into, contributed to a great day.
But how did you adapt to the course and score?  Well, very well in fact, like ducks to water, and scoring was not only above average but quite exceptional with 5 players joining the exclusive Amigos Forties Club! (If you aren’t aware we do have a virtual Amigos Forties Club List on the website so di check it out!)

Category 1 : Individual
As expecting from this Category, standards were very high and honourably mentioned are, Lucy Hole, 34 stableford points, Paul Taylor, 35, Andy Wasik, 36 and with four tied on 37 points Colin Aves and Martin Whant just missed the podium places but many congratulations one and all and especially the proud ‘Forties Club’ winner:-
Winner : Alan Kilminster : 41 points
Runner-Up : Reg Hole : 37 points (handicap 10.6)
3rd Place : Mark Cocker : 37 points (handicap 11.9)

Category 2 : Individual
Not quite showing the all round edge of Category 1 players but with honourable mentions for Jett Smith, 34 points, Stuart Roden, 35, Carol Henshall-Brown, 36 and Josie Aves, 37, however, whilst the third place score was amazing the 1-2 were simply sublime and jumping straight into the Forties Club. Well done everyone in this league:-
