Hola AMIGOS
It’s always a privilege to take Amigos to La Colinas and we know you love it there!  The happy faces is a give away!  It’s a great venue and even recent greens maintenance didn’t detract from the playing conditions.  But how did you play as an Individual and as a Team?  Let’s see…

Category 1 : Individual
As expected from the quality of golfers in this category scoring was generally good but in a few cases exceptional.  Martin Whant, 34 stableford points, Caroline Cherry, 35, you are honourably mentioned  and so are Mick Hughes, 37 points and Stephen Cherry, 38 points with an additional star!  But the winner showed who is still the boss whilst playing with his son and deserved of all plaudits:-
Winner : Emmett Loftus : 39 points
Category 2 : Individual
Some good scoring, some average, but generally not quite as good as Category 1 and probably that’s how it should be.  Mentions are handed to Jon Webster, 31 and honourably so for Mark Digby, 33 and Damon White, 35 points. Well played and especially though, the winner of this group:-
Winner : Colin Gallacher : 36 points
Category 3 : Individual
Anything can happen in this group and it did. Some very good scores punctuated by an exceptional winning score. Well played everyone especially mentioning Steve Nicholls, 32, and honourable so Liz McReynolds, 35 points and Dave Hughes, 36 points. Leading the charge though is a consistent winner and has our congratulations and respect:-
Winner : Gary Conway : 39 points

Team Competition:
The Downsized Stableford Team format with lower scores on 6 holes usually trims the totals and it really showed with only the 3 podium places taken by under par scores.  Well tried everyone and the Start Sheet Designer’s selections of the following combinations worked really well. Congratulations:-
Winners :  Team 13 : 79 points
Mick Hughes, Caroline  Cherry, Liz McReynolds and Dave Hughes
Runners-Up : Team 8 : 75 points
Steve Cherry, Jason Beynsberger, Sylvia De Zwart and Sue Horsfield
3rd Place : Team 3
Chris Connorton, Mark Digby, John Fox and Steve Nicholls .
Other team results were: Teams 2 & 11 = 70pts, Teams 14 = 69pts, Teams 3 & 4 = 67pts, Team5 = 66pts, Team 7 = 61pts, Team 12 = 60pts, Team 10 = 58pts, Team 6 = 56pts.
Two Amigos showed that getting close to the pins was no fluke or down to a lucky shot with Damion Cox finding two, Holes 5 and 7 and Del Holloway, Holes 10 and 17 and also Mark Cocker jetted in with closest on Hole 14.  Great sharpshooting guys.

Let’s now look forward to Vistabella next Thursday 04 Jul’24 before we do GNK courses Hacienda Riquelme on Thursday 11 Jul’24 and La Torre on 25 Jul’24. As it is approaching mid summer we do have plenty of tee-times at low season rates. And it’s not too bad in the heat with buggies.
Thank you all of our Organisers and Helpers, Iain Stewart, Brian Platt, Dave Hughes Harry and Bob, Ron Weller, Liz McReynolds and inductee Steve Fitzpatrick on First tee duty and photography.
How pleasing it was to see so many returnees helping to create the Amigos magic!
Hasta luego
Graham
