ARCHIVED RESULT FROM
Hola AMIGOS
Despite a few challenges along the way it was a pleasure to host today’s competition at La Torre and to take you back to Finca Tres Molinos where Kersten, Sandra and Maxine provided a great atmosphere for our prize presentation. Thank you all.
We put a little more pressure on the Ladies today and they responded magnificently recording good stableford scores.
Category 1
As we would expect from these quality golfers scoring was very good across the board and Klaus Hummel and Gail Duffield, 34 are honourably mentioned along with Mark Harrison, 36 points. Many congratulations go our winners with 1 and 2 separated only by a lower handicap rule:-
Winner : Brian Platt : 38 points
Runner-Up : Emmet Loftus : 38 points
3rd Place : Phil Brookes : 37 points
Category 2
Whilst on the whole not quite as good overall, H Clarke and Anthony Gray, 35 points and Simon Hastings, 36 points are honourably mentioned. But what a show from the 3 outstanding podium golfers and all deservedly joining our ‘Forties Club’!
Winner : Jane McDonald : 42 points (And best Lady prize)
Runner-Up : Lynn Lalley : 41 points (on lower handicap)
3rd Place : Vince Mifsud : 41 points.
Team Competition
Some well above standard par Team scores above 108 points were helped along by the Ladies scores. Many congratulations to the top two places separated only by a lower combined handicap total in a closely fought competition.
Winners : Team 1 : 118 points
Phil Brookes, Kenny Turnbull, Gordon Hutchinson and Simon Hastings
Runners-Up : Team 3 : 118 points
Jane McDonald, Cormac Sheehy, Andrew Stow and Graham Field
3rd Place : Team 7 : 117 points
Gail Duffield, Mark Harrison, Ricky Sorsby and Rob Henshaw.
Other team scores were: Team 4 = 116pts, Team 9 = 115pts, Team 10 = 113pts, Team 12 = 110pts, Teams 8&11 = 105pts, Teams 5&6 = 104pts, Team 2 = 92pts.
With 6 x par 3’s at La Torre, only one ‘2’ recorded was disappointing but well done Brian Platt and also the charity fund. Well done to our three NTP sharpshooters, Dot Jones, Hole 16 (in 2); Anthony Gray, Hole 17 and Jill Sheridan, Hole 18 (in 3). Thank you everyone else who played and contributed to a great day especially our Rookies.
There is no let up in the quality of the competition fixtures for the remainder of the year highlighted by our Amigos v Sucina Gsoc match play coming up soon.
Please refer to the on-line schedule and if you cannot register send me an email.
Finally thank you to our Organisers, Brian, Dave, Bob and Harry taking difficulties in their stride and a special thank you to Dennis Radford of Spectrum for contributing to the financial success of the day.
Hast luego
Graham
