28/11/24 SAURINES
ARCHIVED RESULT FROM
Hola AMIGOS
Saurines surely belongs to STEVE WATTS today. A Hole-in-One on the difficult Par 3 14th Hole, you know, the one with the ‘gorge’ running through the green! Many Congratulations Steve from all at Amigos and so pleased that your first came at one of our events!
It was a great occasion and thank you for helping him celebrate with his credit card!
That kind of eclipsed everything else, even the 3 entrants into the Amigos Forties Club but let’s see what else happened.
Category 1 : Individual
It was pleasing to see some very good returns handed in on a very good and playable golf course but with very tricky pin positions, leftovers from an important competition held there yesterday. Quite a number scored 34 points, but honourable mentions are extended to David Sirett, 35, Andy Duffield and Brian Platt, 36 points. Well played but many congratulations the podium finishers:-
Winner : Lucy Hole : 38 points
Runner-Up : Colin Walters : 37 points (handicap 9.4)
3rd Place : Heimir Bergmann : 37 points (handicap 11.0)
Category 2 : Individual
Scoring was not quite as good as the Category 1 players but Ken Sewell, Steve Fitzpatrick and Gary Conway, 33 points had a very good day at the office and honourable mentions are extended to Wayne Goodwin and Tony Syme, 35 points and me, Graham Field, 36 points. There is no mistaking the top 3 who excelled with great quality and joining that elusive club! Congratulations:-
Winner : Ragnar Hilmarsson : 42 points (handicap 17.2)
Runner-Up : Gail Duffield : 42 points (handicap 17.8)
3rd Place : Dave Hughes : 40 points
Team Competition
Anticipating 108 Stableford points to match Par with this format and with no places to hide the totals were impressive and half the field exceeded the target. You put some great teams out Iain Stewart! Well played everyone who contributed well and how good were those standout prize Teams:-
Winners : Team 13 : 125 points
Shane Bordier, Martin Hennessy, Ragnar Hilmarsson and Dave Hughes
Runners-Up : Team 1 : 121 points
Colin Walters, David Sirett, Klaus Hummel and Ken Sewell
3rd Places : Team 14 : 118 points.
Other team scores were: Team 9 = 114pts, Teams 3&10 = 111pts, Team 7 = 108pts, Teams 2&12 = 106pts, Team 4 = 105pts, team 11 - 104pts, team 8 = 101pts, Team 5 = 99pts, Team 6 = 95pts.
Alan Kilminster, Mick Lynch, Gail Duffield and Gary Conway
What a lesson from today’s sharpshooters challenging the Flags, Ragnar Hilmarsson, Hole 5 (in 2); Jez Pike, Hole 6; Ilona Gregory Hole 13 (in 3) and into the ‘Two’
s Pot’ went Shane Bordier on Hole 10, Lucy Hole, Hole 11 and worth mentioning again into the cup on Hole 14 for an ace, Steve Watts. Well played every member of every four-ball.

It was so good to see so many returnees amongst our ranks today and thank you to James Pearson in particular who didn’t know he was playing until this morning!
Let’s look forward those who are joining the Platinum Fours Competition at Las Ramblas on Saturday and see everyone else soon.
Hasta pronto
Graham
