A nostalgic return to Alhama Signature before it closes perhaps, but let’s hope it reopens under new owners with big investment plans in the not too distant future? The course deserves to be preserved and so do the bacon sandwiches!
Most of us have not played there for quite some time so how did you do?
Category 1
Judging by the honourable mentions, players who might have won on other occasions, scoring was excellent.  Dave Hooper, Colin Walters, 36 points, Ron Weller and Dan Stallard, 37 points and Emmett Loftus, 38 points what amazing scores but please remain in your seats!  And welcome to the ‘Forties Club’ our two podium winners settled only by handicap differences:-
Winner : Brian Platt : 40 points
Runner-Up : Iain Stewart : 40 points
Category 2 
Again some excellent scores were returned and as for category 1 these Amigos can also remain seated!  Pauline Cafferkey, 35 points, Bob Lancaster, 37 points and Tom Duncan and Anthony Gray, 38 points and the end of year rush to join the ‘Forties Club’ saw two new members:-
Winner : H Clarke : 42 (clearly the best of the day)
Runner-Up : Harry Rice : 40 points
Team competition 
108 points, standard par, was seen off by most Teams, but the top two teams left that mark for dead!  In fact the winners completely annihilated it with two individual category winners in it!
Winners : Team 1 : 136 points

Runners-Up : Team 7 : 130 points
Colin Walters, Emmett Loftus, Dave Hooper and Harry Rice.
Thank you everyone else who took part and the other team scores were: Team 6 = 125pts, Team 2 = 118pts, Team 8 = 117pts, Teams 3 & 5 = 109pts, Team 4 = 102pts.
With no NTP's available today our 'sharp-shooters' were restricted to 2's and they were achieved by: Pauline Cafferkey & Harry Rice on hole 3 and Sandy McDonald on hole 17 - congratulations to them all.

Two games remain before the end of the year and what crackers they are, Villamartin on Thursday 22 Dec’22 and our very special Amigos ‘Glitter Ball’ on Thursday 29 Dec’22 at Las Colinas.  A themed golf event with lots of surprises and an occasion for we Organisers to spoil you.  There are a number of places available for Villamartin so looking for you to support this event and only a few left for Las Colinas.  We will be sending out more details shortly.
It only remains for us to say what a shame some of you will miss these competitions but hope that you enjoy your upcoming festive holidays elsewhere.
