Whilst I see a leader board full of BLUE this morning in the OTHER Ryder Cup that wasn’t the case yesterday where Team America recorded an emphatic win at Las Colinas. Many congratulations, Captain Steve Fitzpatrick and Vice, Andy Duffield for bringing your Team home in grand style with a 37.5 - 26.5 points victory. And, many congratulations too for Team Europe where Captain Annette Deeley and Vice, An Van Den Borre put up some stern opposition. But most of all it was a great occasion and all of you, including Captains, Players, Organisers, Helpers and Fans and host Golf Club made the day very special with your rousing support, costume and colour, camaraderie and drink and food contributing to make that great atmosphere.

Whilst the day was about pride, playing for your Team there was a Nearest the Pin Competition sponsored by David and Carol Henshall-Brown’s Professional Property Finders and the target shooters were, Hole 5 David Brown; Hole 7 John Boyle; Hole 10 Pauline Cafferkey; Hole 14 Colin Walters and Hole 17 Ron Weller. And as an aside to the Golf, Serge Petruzziello scooped the Jackpot predicting the final score with incredible accuracy, well done.

Returning to the guys who made the occasion seamless I do have to name the names behind it all, Organisers Brian Platt, Bob Lancaster, Harry Rice, Iain Stewart and First Tee Starters, Terry Wallington, John Burgess, Malcolm Weaver and Mick Lynch, Photographer Graham Platts and special Helpers Tanya Platts and Heather Field.
