The first Order of Merit event of 2024 saw 217 different players (WOW) competing across 13 games and the 'cut-off' handicap for Division 2 was 18.8, with anyone lower being in the Division 1 category. A total of 51 players managed to complete the full 4 qualifying games with 22 managing to hit the maximum 6 game tally & 13 managing 5 games.

Our winner took an early lead and never looked back, eventually building a 10 point lead .Had Paul Taylor or Reg Hole been able to complete a 6th game then maybe they could have caught up, but both would have needed at least 43points to do that. Our final top 3 were: Brian Platt in 3rd place with 142 points, Iain Stewart in 2nd place with 143 points but congratulations go to Ron Weller for his magnificent 153 points tally that comfortably took 1st spot. 

We had 15 (qualifying) scores of 40+ points with Ron Weller really showing his class by achieving 2 of them. The standout score was 44pts, achieved by Iain Stewart & Rob Henshaw, but there were also: 1 score of 43 points, 2 scores of 42 points, 2 of 41 points, plus 8 scores of 40 points.
