The first Order of Merit event of 2023 saw a record 171 different players competing in at least one OOM event. This quadrimestre, for the first time ever we saw the leadership of one of the tables changing due to the Div 2 leaders handicap moving and them being promoted to Div 1. This event was composed of 11 games and the 'cut-off' handicap for Division 2 was again 18.7, with anyone lower being in the Division 1 category. A total of 50 players managed to complete the full 4 qualifying games with 33 managing to hit the maximum 6 game tally & 42 managing 5 games.

Division 2 once again went down to the wire with our winner snatching first place with the final round of the season. Unlike Div 1, this division had several leaders with Harry Rice looking to take this division after his amazing 49pts at Bonalba but he was overtaken by 2 of his teammates. Once again, it looked good for Harry as both Mick Lynch & John Burgess were promoted into Div 1 (due to handicap drops) moving Harry from 3rd to 1st in Div 2. Fate had other ideas however and whilst Harry's 141pts comfortably held off Bente Hansen (Third place with 132pts on countback), he was pipped on the final game by a solid score by our winner. Congratulations go to our clear winner who was Simon Hastings, with a solid score of 145 points.

We had some great scoring this Trimestre with a total of 10 (qualifying) scores of 40+ points with the standout score being the 49pts that Harry Rice achieved at Bonalba. There was 1 score of 44 points, 2 scores of 42pts, 3 of 41 points, plus 3 others of 40 points. Only Andy Wasik managed two qualifying scores in the 40's with Bob Lancaster's 2 scores of 40+ coming after he had already posted his 6 qualifying scores (sorry Bob - bad timing).
